SnakeGrid CSV Transformer User Guide
1. Starting SnakeGrid CSV Transformer
The SnakeGrid Batch Transformer application runs within
MicroStation V8, XM and V8i. (NOTE: The correct version of
MicroStation will need to have been setup prior to installing the SnakeGrid Transformer application).
To start the SnakeGrid Batch Transformer application:
- Start MicroStation.
- Open up any dgn file that you want.
- When the dgn file has opened select from the menu '!SnakeGrid->Utilities->Process CSV' (this will load the application and display the CSV interface dialog ).
- Once the SnakeGrid CSV Transformer application is loaded you will see the following dialog:

When you are processing a large CSV and points exist which are outside the "From"
or "To" grid, the SnakeGrid CSV Transformer will raise an error beside each invalid
CSV record in the following format:
ID,[ERROR: A detailed error description message]
If you are processing the file after wards ignore or handle any CSV records
which contain the character string "[ERROR:"
Here is an example of such output:
5. Notes
- You are responsible for knowing what format and grid system the CSV data is in.
- If you select an input CSV file that is in XRAIL09 and choose to convert from OSGB to XRAIL09 the transformer will attempt to convert it but the output will probably report errors.
- The output file is created in the same directory as the input csv. The user will need read/write permissions to this directory.
