Oasis Mapping Solution

Introduction

The Oasis mapping solution is a set of add-ons for the Microstation CAD product. Oasis-Lite is used by utility companies to display network and asset data against digital map data from Ordnance Survey Great Britain (OSGB) or Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSI) in a CAD or mapping type of environment.

NTF Import

Ordnance survey ntf maps may be imported/exported to or from microstation design files using oasis. This is simply just a matter of choosing which ntf files to convert and a specifying a selection file which contains the symbology for imported features.

Key Map

This allows the user to display or undisplay maps at the click of a button. A grid is placed over all maps that exist on the computer. By clicking within a grid square, that map will become visible (unless it is already visible, in which case it will be undisplayed). This is particulary useful if you have many maps on your machine but are only interested in one small area. It is also possible to display/undisplay all maps within the current view, rather than one at a time.

Kings Move

Kings move has 2 uses:
  1. To pan around in the view by clicking on the relevant arrows
  2. To automatically load maps as they come into view whilst panning around

Map Gazetteer

The map gazetteer has 2 uses:
  1. To show the current os map reference as the mouse is moved around in the view
  2. To zoom the view to a map reference entered by the user

Street Gazetteer

The street gazetteer lists all features imported from the os ntf files. Selecting any one of these will zoom straight to it in the current view. Alternatively you may type in the name of the street/feature to zoom to if known. This is particulary useful if you want to move from one area to another as it saves having to manually scroll across from one area to another.

Plotting

The plotting application fits a plot-border in the current view window (see above). The area inside the green rectangle is the only part of the map that will be printed. The area between the blue and green rectangles is used for displaying extra info relating to the plot. (Eg. Map-Ref, User-name, Time/Date etc) The plot border may be modified to suit your particular needs.

Download

These are the current versions. They are supplied with a demo licence which means you are limited to a specific area. Upon purchasing the software you will be sent a new licence file:
